It’s no secret that this is a very, very dark time – in our lives, and in American history. Feeling helpless is a common emotion right now. In this post I’ll share some reputable resources that may fit your needs.

It’s taken me a bit to get this out. Sometimes the words just spill, and sometimes…they just don’t. Forewarning – this is personal, raw and long. So buckle up if you’d like to read any further.

There’s an old man in the barn. He’s seen a lot in his time. Much that I’ve never seen, and much that I have. The mileage is great, but for me, it’s the years that are dog-eared. 

Sadness is sadness. Heartbreak is heartbreak. Grief is grief. And you’d be hard pressed to find a better teacher for all of those things than a horse who has lived through all of it, and then some.

Sometimes, we need help long before we ever think we do. Thank God for strangers who know what they are doing and are in the right place, at the right time.

Put down the weight you are carrying, and give a stranger your best. I can promise you, they won’t forget it. And even if for a brief moment, it just might ease whatever they may be carrying too.
